In this addition to our Cancer Course we will go through the causes and effects of peripheral neuropathy. This course is for any movement teachers wanting to expand their knowledge when working with clients with peripheral neuropathies from cancer treatments, or any other conditions that can affect the peripheral nerves. The strategies learnt in this course are also great to start incorporating in the healthy client group to support strength, balance and mobility as they age. This tutorial will include a theoretical explanation of peripheral neuropathy and why it happens and the mechanisms behind it, but most of the time will be spent discussing practical ideas for how to work with clients in the studio.
We recommend doing our online Peripheral Neuropathy and Cancer course in conjunction with this tutorial as this will give you a deeper understanding of the interrelationships between peripheral neuropathy and different types of cancer.
The tutorial will be run from our West End studio if you are in Brisbane and would like to participate in person, or you can join us via Zoom. Participants will receive a recording of the tutorial afterwards.
