Christine studied and qualified as a physiotherapist in England, starting my career at Europe’s largest teaching hospital where I gained a valuable wide range of clinical experience from which to base my further education and career. While in England, I was a member of the special interest group of Physiotherapists in respiratory care in London, and then worked at a national neurological demonstration centre in Exeter where I held a locum position as senior physiotherapist in general orthopaedic and neurological outpatients before I came out to Australia.
I immediately fell in love with Australia and soon found myself calling Australia ‘home.’ I worked mainly in private practice positions before opening my own practice on the Sunshine Coast which I owned for many years while raising three beautiful children. Four years ago, I moved down to Brisbane for further study, with the added benefit of being close to family.
I hold a deep passion to see patients reach their optimal health. The body is beautifully connected and pain can come from different sources. I treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions with a special interest in spinal alignment and resolving joint pain. Over the years, I have expanded my techniques to include some less traditional to physiotherapy but highly effective, such as Jones counterstrain, muscle-energy spinal alignment techniques, Upledger cranio-sacral therapy, Barral visceral techniques, Somato-emotional release techniques, and myofascial skills studied at the Stanborough Institute.
I am excited to be part of a holistic team that places patient well-being first. I find approaching the body from a holistic point of view and having more treatment options to offer toward patients enables a hands-on technique to be selected that can sometimes resolve a pain that patients previously thought they had to live with. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone reach a new level of fitness in life that they didn’t previously think possible.
